Book Drive Nets 1,600 Books for Developmental Readers
A used book drive sponsored by CNM’s School of Adult & General Education led to more than 1,600 books being donated for students in developmental reading programs. The books were donated by CNM faculty and staff.

Accomplished Poets Kick Off Spoken Word Event at Main Campus Library
Nov. 14, 2012 -- Accomplished New Mexico poets Levi Romero and David Martinez will perform their poetry at the “CNM Speaks: Poetry and Spoken Word” event that will be held Thursday, Nov. 15, at 3 p.m. at the Main Campus Library in the Student Resource Center. Members of the CNM community are also invited to share their poetry during an open mic session.

Expert to Talk About PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injuries at Montoya Campus
Dr. Joseph Sadek, an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of New Mexico who also leads the Veterans Affairs Center Psychiatric Poly-Trauma Team, will speak about Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injuries on Wednesday, Nov. 14, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Montoya Campus H Building, Room 126.

A new STEM-UP Transfer Center has opened on Main Campus, providing a variety of support services for students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) fields. STEM-UP is a joint effort by CNM and the University of New Mexico to address the significant need in New Mexico for more graduates in the STEM fields.
