Instructor and Wildland Firefighter Teaches from Vast Experience
October 10, 2013 -- Between late April and July 8, Brian Henington, a CNM wildland firefighting instructor, was home four days. The rest of the time he was fighting fires, including one where he battled a blaze next to the 19 firefighters who later died in the Arizona Yarnell Hill Fire.

Investment Study Can Help Students Save for Education, a House or Starting a Business
March 4, 2013 -- CNM students can apply to participate in a study called the “Suncat Savings Challenge” that will allow many students to invest in a matched savings account. For every dollar a qualifying student puts into the account, public and private institutions will match the dollar with four dollars.

Jeannette Stromberg Hall Renovation Earns LEED Gold Certification
June 13, 2013 -- The newly renovated Jeannette Stromberg Hall on CNM’s Main Campus has been awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. It is the second building on a CNM campus and the first renovation project to receive the coveted LEED Gold honor.

Jet Engine Donated to Aviation Technology Program
Jan. 5, 2014 -- 10 Tanker Air Carrier, which operates firefighting planes, recently donated a 16,000-pound, CF6-6K Turbofan engine to CNM’s Aviation Technology program for use in training students in aviation maintenance.

Laboratory Building Renovation to Provide 'Wow' Factor
March 13, 2014 -- The Main Campus Laboratory (L) Building will soon be undergoing a $15 million renovation. It will require the building to be closed for four terms, but it will be worth the wait.
