CNM Governing Board Members

CNM's Governing Board consists of seven members elected to four-year terms from districts within the overall College district, which includes Bernalillo County plus Corrales and Rio Rancho in Sandoval County.


Current members and their districts are:

District 1 — Pauline J. Garcia, (505) 352-2991, paulinegar@msn.com

caption:Pauline J. Garcia is a retired manager, instructor and customer service specialist with Qwest, PNM, Paychex and Gas Company of New Mexico. She also served on the CNM Governing Board for one term that began in 1997.

Ms. Garcia's community involvement includes: Pastoral Council at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church; tutor for Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, Albuquerque Reads; volunteer builder for Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity; docent for Albuquerque Museum, Casa San Ysidro; former Albuquerque Public Schools Board member, serving two terms that began in 1986; former CNM Governing Board member.

District 2 — Robert P. Matteucci, Jr., (505) 888-1811, Bobmat3@aol.com

Robert P. Matteucci, Jr. is a family law attorney. Mr. Matteucci was also the founder and owner of local retail store Shoes on a Shoestring from 1990 to 2003. He was general manager of Paris Shoes, Matteucci Florsheim and Shoe Circus from 1985-90.

Mr. Matteucci's community involvement includes: Law-la-palooza volunteer in 2012, providing free legal advice to low-income individuals in Albuquerque community on family law matters; member International Academy of Collaborative Professionals; member New Mexico Collaborative Practice Group; member American Bar Association; member Albuquerque Bar Association; free representation to low-income individuals in need of representation for family law matters; elected American Bar Association representative by University of New Mexico School of Law student body in 2007; member Albuquerque Public Schools Drop Back In Advisory Committee (1998-2003) as part of effort to reintegrate high-risk students back into school; founder of NAOT/Shoes on a Shoestring event for Healthcare for the Homeless (1999-2006); founder of Suitable for Success/Shoes on a Shoestring Clothing and Shoe Drive to benefit incarcerated females who had been recently released (1996-2003); appointed to City of Albuquerque Downtown Corridor Revenues Committee (1987-90).

caption:Deborah "Debbi" Moore, a second-term Board member, has been the president of the Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce since 2002. She is also a member of the New Mexico Small Business Development Center Advisory Board, the Sandoval County Juvenile Justice Board and the Albuquerque Regional Economic Alliance.

Mark Armijo is the president of Nuestros Valores Charter School and he is a programmer analyst for the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority. He is also the president of the Pauline Armijo Scholarship Fund, which provides support to non-traditional female students seeking a higher education degree in the education field.

Blair Kaufman, a career educator, is principal of Matheson Elementary School. He was elected to the Board in 1995. A hot-air balloon pilot, he regularly flies the CNM banner.

Penny Holbrook is the retired director of Community Corrections Inc., a contract agency that assisted people reintegrating into the community from prison. She became a Board member in 1999.

District 7 — Michael D. DeWitte, Chair, (505) 284-5201

caption:

Michael DeWitte, a second-term Board member, is the founder and President of ApertureNEXT, LLC, a management and technical consulting firm. Mr. DeWitte is a licensed Professional Engineer. He was formerly a member of senior management at Sandia National Laboratories and retired from there in 2011. He is a member of the Economic Forum and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Presbyterian Central NM delivery system (hospitals/medical group). He is also on the Board of Directors for New Mexico PBS (KNME) and he is a member of the national PBS Leadership Council.
