President Winograd signed on to the American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment with 545 other presidents in October 2007. Through this commitment, CNM has established the President's Sustainability & Climate Control Task Force. The Task Force is charged with developing a comprehensive implementation plan for climate control and sustainability at CNM.
The Task Force has identified the following nine areas of impact to focus their attention:
- Academics
- Built Environment
- Energy
- Food Services
- Landscaping
- Procurement
- Transportation
- Waste
- Water
