Transfer Basics

When should I start?

  • AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE. It is important to begin preparing for your transfer as early as possible to ensure a smooth transition. We strongly encourage you to meet with an advisor to discuss your transfer options.

How should I begin?

  • MEET WITH A CNM ACADEMIC ADVISOR as a walk-in student or by making an appointment; call 505.224.4321. Learn the requirements for general education and pre-major transfer courses. An advisor can assist you in identifying pre-major courses that can be completed as part of a transfer degree at CNM.

  • PARTICIPATE IN TRANSFER ACTIVITIES. Investigate academic programs at colleges by attending transfer workshops, visiting information tables at CNM, and attending Transfer Programs for transfer students on various campuses. The current list of transfer events contact Recruitment, Orientation, and Transitional Services
    or AACD.

  • MEET WITH AN ADVISOR at each college you are considering transferring to. Take an unofficial  copy of  your CNM transcript as well as transcript(s) from other colleges you have attended.
