Career Development

What is Career Development?

Career development is the process of exploring careers through the use of various tools with the guidance of an Academic Advisor and is designed to help you choose a major or career path.

For career exploration information and resources, click here to access our Career Resource Center web page.

Career Clusters

CNM believes that students are most successful when they begin their education with a career goal in mind. CNM uses career clusters and pathways to help students identify, plan and achieve their career goals.

  • Career clusters are groups of careers that share similar skill sets and related occupations.
  • Career clusters organize careers so that educators and students can target the education and skills needed for specific jobs.
