Office of Education Partnerships

The Office of Education Partnerships helps high school students transition into college and successfully proceed through post-secondary education to acquire associate degrees or pursue bachelor's degrees at other institutions.  The Office manages and supports the Dual Credit, College & Career Bound, Drop-In, and Articulated Credit programs that provide opportunities for students to obtain college credit.

The Office of Education Partnerships helps facilitate the alignment of secondary and post-secondary curriculum to ensure that during high school students have the opportunity to obtain the knowledge and study the skills that are needed to be successful in specific Central New Mexico Community College (CNM) programs.  In addition, schools are assisted in preparation of career pathways--paths that provide a seamless transition from high school to CNM programs of study.  Through all of the above activities, strong relationships have been cultivated with Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Bernalillo, Belen, Los Lunas, Moriarty, and Santa Fe school districts as well as charter and private schools.

In addition to collaborating with high schools in the area, the Office of Education Partnerships teams with four-year universities to ensure a smooth transition from the high school to the university level.  Efforts are underway to build stronger connections between CNM and the University of New Mexico (UNM) creating networks of support for students seeking two- and four-year degrees.  Open communication with the business and educational community may help CNM better prepare students for success in higher education and in the workforce.

Special Projects and Grants

The Office of Education Partnerships manages grants such as the Carl D. Perkins grant program and other special projects, as needed.  The Perkins grant provides supplementary funds to career technical education programs of study as well as support services for career technical students.  At CNM, Carl D. Perkins funds are  used to expand, and update CNM career technical programs though purchase of state of the art industry standard equipment and supplies, as well as develop and deploy new career and technical programs of study to meet the needs of New Mexico's growing industries. For more information on the Carl D. Perkins grant at CNM, click the Perkins grant link in the upper left menu.
