ATI TEAS (formerly HOBET/TEAS V Exam)

The TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) assessment measures basic essential skills in the academic areas of Reading, Mathematics, Science, and English and language usage.

ATI TEAS for Allied Health is required for entrance into the following Coordinated Entry Program:

  • Respiratory Therapy
  • Veterinary Technology
  • Diagnostic Medical Sonography
  • Medical Laboratory Technician
  • Radiology Technology

About the TEAS assessment

  • The exam fee is $55.00 (payable at time of exam)
  • Textbooks, notebooks, paper and children are not allowed in the testing lab
  • Scratch paper is provided and will be collected
  • Students may retest after 24 hours
  • The exam may be given up to 4 hours prior to closing
  • The exam is given at any CNM Assessment Center on a walk-in basis, except South Valley

AREAS TESTED:

  • Reading Comprehension (58 minutes with 48 questions, 28% of exam)
  • Mathematics (51 minutes with 34 questions, 20% of exam)
  • Science (66 minutes with 54 questions, 32% of exam)
  • English and Language Usage (34 minutes with 34 questions, 20% of exam)

Obtaining TEAS assessment scores

TESTING RESULTS:

  • Students must meet minimum required scores listed below
    • Minimum required scores in Reading, Math, English and Science can be obtained through multiple attempts, however each attempt must have a minimum comprehensive score of 60.00%
    • If a student reaches a minimum required score in one of the four categories, but does not score a 60.00% overall the attempt will not be valid
  • Scores are valid for 5 years

Minimum Required Scores:

  • Comprehensive 60.00%
  • Reading 70.30%
  • Math 67.90%
  • English 58.50%
  • Science 47.40%
