BIT Resources for Students

Students in BRC

The School of Business and Information Technology offers resources for its students to help them be successful.  These resources are a valuable part of the dynamic environment that BIT provides to enable students to stay current in the business and information technology fields.

The BIT support team consists of faculty and staff, directors and program chairs, the dean and associate deans, an achievement coach, instructional and support technicians, tutors, and peer mentors who are dedicated to student success.  The School prides itself on computer and technology-rich classrooms.

For ease in accessing many of CNM's and BIT's student resources, please refer to our A - Z Resource List.  For information regarding tutoring, please refer to our Tutorial Schedule.

Business Resource Centers
(Main Campus and Montoya Campus)
The Business Resource Center is an extension of the School's classroom and is available for class-related work only.   Students have the opportunity to complete homework assignments and research projects, to practice skills and receive assistance with computer course work, and to access BIT's distance learning classes.   Staff members offer support for Microsoft applications and Macintosh multimedia applications.  Students may avail themselves of current course textbooks, A/V equipment, computers on wheels, copying and scanning equipment, headphones, and other related equipment.  Course challenge exams and Microsoft Office Specialist Testing are scheduled through the BRC.

Achievement Coach
The Achievement Coach supports the goals of Business & Information Technology (BIT) and seeks to improve student retention and success and to increase student completion and graduation.  The services are free and available upon request by BIT students, faculty, and staff.

Student Associations and Clubs
Students in the School of Business and Information Technology share that belonging to an association or organization fosters a sense of community.  These associations are sponsored by BIT faculty and staff.  Students find that participating in activities and projects while interacting with fellow students is a rewarding aspect of attending community college.

Microsoft Office Specialist Exams
Please refer to the Certiport web site for Microsoft Office Specialist exam vouchers.
