Agency description/mission: Junior Achievement is a world wide organization that promotes learning about how to handle money, exploring careers, economics and global trade – and much more for students K-12 grades. Service Learning opportunities: Junior Achievement Service Learning students will have the opportunities to select from: teaching pre-organized, written and tested classes on financial literacy in grades K-12 (or) participate as a member of our leadership team learning how a large organization works current business practices cutting edge computer software all that are in place to teach students about financial literacy. Orientation/Training schedule: To be announced – but plan on September 2006 time frame. Special conditions or requirements: Looking for students with interest in finance, business, education and fun! Number of Service Learning Students Needed: 5 Hours of operation when students are needed: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm flexible Minimum hour commitment required: 3-5 hours weekly Juvenile Probation/Parole Office
Location directions: Please call each office. Agency description/mission: We provide support and supervision to children and families in Sandoval, Valencia and Cibola Counties. Service Learning opportunities: Work directly with juveniles and their families. Provide job shadowing. Involvement and observation in offices' Diversion and Intervention programs. Ride-a-long opportunities with JPPO staff. Observe operations of Children's Court. Supervise clients on informal probation. Conduct preliminary inquires with clients and families. Make referrals to office and community-based programs. Orientation/Training schedule: Total of 8 hours, four hours to review documents and four hours in person training. Ongoing training with JPPO staff. Special conditions or requirements: Twenty-one years of age, however will accept students 18 to 21 who are currently enrolled in college level school. Will be subject to criminal background checks. No felony convictions. Number of Service Learning Students Needed: Hours of operation when students are needed: Primarily 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
