Location directions: I-25 North to Comanche/Griegos exit. Left out of exit onto Griegos. Take a right onto 4th Street NW. Big sculpture out front. Address: 4904.

Agency description/mission: VSA North Fourth Art Center provides creative and cultural access and exploration for people of every ability through the arts. North Fourth Art Center is operated by VSA arts of New Mexico, a member of the National VSA arts network affiliated with the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Service Learning opportunities:

  1. Supporting administrative duties for the theater/gallery.
  2. On-the-job training will continue as needed.
  3. Participating in theater tech and front-of-house duties.


Orientation/Training schedule: 1 day of orientation and training. On-the-job training will continue throughout the 15 hours because the people we serve all have different needs.

Special conditions or requirements:  Come with an open mind.

Number of Service-Learning Students Needed: 2

Hours of operation when students are needed: Flexible

Minimum hour commitment required: 25 hours



The Service Learning Program is a proud recipient of a Corporation for National and Community Service Grant. The program is also the 1999 National Bellwether award winner and the 2004 Community College National Center for Community Engagement Service Learning and Civic Engagement award winner.
