Humanities & Religious StudiesWhat Are Humanities? The Humanities include those branches of knowledge, such as philosophy, literature, and art, that are concerned with human thought and culture; the liberal arts. The ancient civilizations of Greece and Rome are examples of what students may encounter in a humanities course.
What Are Religious Studies? Religious Studies engages in the comparative, cross-cultural study of religions and cultures. Studies utilize various disciplinary approaches, including the historical, sociological, anthropological, philosophical and theological. The academic study of religion seeks to interpret, analyze, and evaluate the nature and role of religion in the lives of individuals and societies. For more information contact, Havva Houshmand-Chair Person e-mail: havva@cnm.edu
