SSH Accounts

Secure Shell or SSH is a network protocol that allows data to be exchanged using a secure channel between two computers. Encryption provides confidentiality and integrity of data over an insecure network, such as the Internet.  Common uses at CNM are for publishing content to web pages on W3 and upload and download files.

Links provided below are just some suggested sites for home users to download SSH client on their own computer.  There are other sites you may use as well not listed on these pages; if you are on campus SSH is already available on all computers.

Windows Platforms:
SSH Windows
PuTTY

MAC Platforms:
Please be aware if you are a MAC user that MACs are not currently being supported by ITS and the MAC SSH clients haven't been tested since, with few exceptions.
Open SSH is native to newer versions of MACs, via the command line prompt.
