Spam Filter Updates at CNM
In an effort to curb the increase in spam at CNM, ITS will be implementing changes on December 8, 2006.
Here are the changes:
1. Incorporate additional “black list” checking against all e-mail. If a sender of e-mail is on one of these lists, the e-mail will not be delivered.
2. Create a “white list” to allow for those rare occasions that a legitimate organization may appear on a blacklist.
What to expect and how to resolve conflicts:
The chances of legitimate e-mail being denied or marked as “possible spam” may increase with these changes.
If you are made aware of e-mail being rejected after the changes, please contact the helpdesk with the following information:
1. Sender of e-mail (phone and e-mail address)
2. Your name, phone and e-mail address
3. Day the e-mail was sent or rejected.
Thank you for your cooperation in this effort to reduce the amount of spam delivered to CNM.
Be advised that e-mail delivered to tvi.edu will no longer be supported starting February 17, 2007. Please update your contacts to your new e-mail address at cnm.edu.
