| | Each time a Credit Union Member uses their debit card as a signature based transaction, they earn a cash reward that is matched by the Credit Union and distributed to the communities they serve. The Credit Union Member designates one of five categories (education, healthcare, the arts, community and environment/wildlife) and the community they would like to see receive the gift. |
“This is another way for our members to earn a personal reward and to designate a matching reward to support education in their community,” said Sharla Reinhart, AVP Membership Development for NMEFCU.
Credit Union Members generate thousands of dollars each year by using their debit card. The Community Rewards Program was introduced by the credit union in 2006 to give members the opportunity to take action in their community. Faculty, staff, students and other friends of CNM, who are members of the New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union, can now enroll in the non-compulsory Community Rewards Program where funds raised will be designated to support student success.
