News & Events

The CNM Foundation Leading the Way Campaign

Each fall, the CNM Foundation embarks on our employee giving campaign in conjunction with United Way called ‘Leading the Way,’ with an emphasis on community giving. Every year we have been successful in surpassing the previous year’s fundraising efforts and this year was no exception!

The CNM ‘Leading the Way’ Campaign received donations from 671 CNM Employees - roughly a 10% increase over last year’s participation - raising a total of $94,506.52, with $69,637.48 going to the CNM Foundation and $24,869.04 donated to local, national and international charities through the United Way. Thank you to all faculty, staff and friends of CNM who contributed to this year’s Leading the Way Campaign! We sincerely appreciate each and every gift that will be invested into the CNM community, impacting our students and programs.

2007 Donor Dinner Highlights

Sponsored by Wells Fargo, the 2007 Donor Appreciation Dinner was held at the Don Chamlers Ford in Rio Rancho to recognize those who contribute to the success of our students. The evening offered an opportunity for students to reflect on the generous support of donors and speak on their experiences and challenges they faced in order to obtain an education. Vanessa Allen Anaya, Aaron Skiles, Roberto Chavez, Evelyn Howe, Anthony Guevara*, Sam Lockwood, Dominic Montoya and Clifford Lucero were the eight students selected to share their stories and education and personal triumphs.

In addition, the CNM Distinguished Alumni Award was presented to Bill Stanage, Jr., Registered Principal, Investment Advisor Representative of Wealth Management/Financial Network who was nominated by Sharon Gordon, Director of Center for Community Programs and Partnerships for CNM. Congratulations Bill!

* Tragically, Anthony Guevara passed away in March 2008, just a few months after beginning a job in CNM's Community Programs and Partnerships Department. His memory is honored on the CNM Employee Memorial on Main Campus.

NewMexicoResources.org

The CNM Foundation has partnered with PNM, Don Chalmers Ford, and Wells Fargo to help individuals access a variety of publicly-funded assistance programs. The partnership has created an on-line guide that provides detailed information to low and moderate-income individuals and families living in New Mexico.

Visit www.NewMexicoResources.org to search this on-line tool that will help guide students through the complicated process of obtaining benefits and services. CNM programs can now direct their students needing public assistance to this website to get resources and overcome obstacles for them to be able to continue and complete their course work.

The NMEFCU Community Rewards Program!

Faculty, staff, students and other friends of CNM who are members of the New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union can now enroll in the non-compulsory Community Rewards Program. The Community Rewards Program was introduced by the credit union in 2006 to give members the opportunity to take action in their community.
