ADA Information

The Americans with Disabilities Act says, public entities may not deny an individual the opportunity to participate in or benefit from its programs, activities or services based on disability. In developing Distance Learning Courses, it is important to remember CNM must make these courses accessible to students with disabilities. Students with disabilities may use a variety of assistive hardware or software to help them access information on-line. Students with visual problems may use screen or text readers to access the information. Information with a lot of graphics can be difficult for these individuals to access, or video without verbal description. Students with hearing impairments can have difficulty with audio information. It is usually easier to work on access during development of the course than to try to work it out after the course has been completed.
