Admissions process for students under 18 years of age.

These students under 18 years of age may be admitted to CNM:

Be an eligible high school-aged student

If you are under 18 and attending a public, private or home-based high school program, you may apply for the Dual Credit program for freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors at any partner high school district or state charter school.

Home school applicants under the age of 15 (or public/private school students below a freshman level) and any applicant under the age of 18 (who does not meet the requirements of the CNM Dual Credit Program) need to follow the Non-dual Credit Admissions Process.

Have finished a high school program

  • have a high school diploma from a U.S. high school* or foreign high school; or
  • have a high school equivalency diploma (such as GED or HiSET); or
  • have completed the requirements of a home-based high school program;

*The high school must be recognized by the state department of education in the institution's home state or by a regional accrediting agency approved by the New Mexico State Board of Education.

If you are 16 or 17 years old and are no longer actively attending high school, please contact CNM's Adult Basic Education office for information on obtaining a GED.
