Dual Credit Enrollment Process

New Dual Credit Students:

1. Apply to CNM.
        Online

In- person at any CNM Admissions Office.

2. Take Accuplacer (or get a copy of your ACT or SAT scores). Then, bring your scores to
meet with a CNM advisor to review your testing outcome and discuss course options.

3. Meet with your high school counselor to discuss the Dual Credit Program. Review the CNM
Catalog and Schedule of Classes for policies and program and course information.  Bring the
Approval & Registration form you printed from your online admission or a paper Approval
   & Registration form.

Dual Credit students can register for up to 18 credit hours per term and for courses
numbered 1000 and above only. Students will be removed from courses numbered
below 1000 and courses added after the 18 credit limit.

Your school will have final approval for course selection each term. Though you can register for classes on-line, should your high school not approve the course, you may be dropped from the class.   See the School Districts link on the Program Requirements page or contact CNM's High School Relations at 224-4238 if you need the name and contact information for the coordinator at your high school.

4.  Register for classes.

  • If you applied online, submit the signed approval & registration page you printed to any CNM Registration Office within 5 business days.
  • If you applied in person, take your Approval & Registraton form to any CNM Registration Office to register for your course(s).
  • Register online for your course(s) using CNM’s online registration system.
  • Pay any program fees that are due by the following business day after registering. You do not have to pay tuition or the registration fee.  Out-of-district students must notify the Cashier's Office.

Continuing Dual Credit students:

  • Registration information will be sent to you by CNM. When you receive this information, print the Approval & Registration form and bring it when you meet with your high school counselor to plan your courses for the next term.
  • continue with step #3 above.
