Dual Credit Program Requirements

To be eligible for dual credit a high school student must:
  • Be a current high school sophomore, junior or senior from a school district that has a dual credit agreement with CNM.
  • Attending high school half-time or more.
  • Have taken the ACT or SAT or taken CNM's college level assessment (Accuplacer) test for appropriate course placement.

Dual credit students:

  • Can take up to 18 hours per term (6 credit hours if you do not qualify for New Mexico in-state tuition status).
  • Can take arts & sciences or career technical courses (CNM course numbers 1000 and higher) but not remedial or developmental.
  • Can attend during CNM's Fall and Spring terms only.
  • Will receive elective high school credit and CNM college credit when a course is completed satisfactorily.
