At the time admission or re-admission, students are assigned a system generated student identification number. Your student ID number provides access to STARS and CNM's online systems. When prompted for a user id enter your student ID number.
If you are using your social security number as your student ID number and want to switch to a generated ID number complete the Alternate ID Number Request form and submit to an Enrollment Services office at any campus.
Personal Identification Number (PIN)
Your PIN is a confidential number that allows you access to STARS and CNM's online system. Unless you have used the online system or STARS for the prior term your PIN has been pre-set to your birth date of birth (mmddyy). For example, if your date of birth is January 1, 1980 the PIN would be 010180.
After entering your PIN online for the first time, you will receive a message that your PIN has expired and that you are required to change your PIN. You will be prompted to create a new confidential PIN consisting of six new numbers. To protect the security of your records, your date of birth can not be used as the new PIN.
If you have forgotten your PIN enter your User ID and click on "Forgot PIN?". You will be asked a security question, which you previously answered. A successful answer will enable you to reset your PIN and gain access to CNM's online system. If you are unsuccessful or unable to remember your security question answer, you must go to any registration office with a picture ID to reset your PIN.
