State Student Incentive Grant

State Student Incentive Grant (SSIG) is awarded to those students who demonstrate exceptional financial need. This is defined as an EFC of '0'. Students who complete the Free Federal Application for Student Aid are automatically considered for the grant.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • EFC must be equal to 0-3000
  • Must not have earned a bachelors degree
  • Must be enrolled in at least half-time (6 credit hours)
  • Must be enrolled in an eligible program of study
  • Be a New Mexico resident

Award Amounts:

The amount awarded to a student is based on availability of funds and prorated based on the student's enrollment status. The maximum award is $1,000 per year. Click the following link for more information on grant payments.
