HWPS Drug Screen Information
URINE DRUG SCREENINGCentral New Mexico Community College and health care facilities used for student instruction are committed to zero tolerance of use of illegal drugs and the abuse of legal drugs. Health care facilities, as part of their contractual clinical agreements with the School of Health, Wellness, and Public Safety (HWPS), require that all students complete a drug screen prior to beginning their educational experiences in a facility. Students with a positive drug screen will be removed from the course for that term. Program directors will provide information regarding the process for drug screening. Currently the drugs screened for are listed in the table below. A medical review officer at the contracted lab will review any positive screens that would result in students being disenrolled from a program.
