MLT Petitioning Information

Petitioning Process
At the beginning of each summer term, prospective MLT students must declare MLT as a major and submit an MLT application form along with specific documentation which makes up the petition packet.   The MLT application forms and instructions may be picked up at the School of Health, Wellness, and Public Safety (HWPS) Administrative office located in the Jeanette Stromberg Building, Room 310, or at any MLT program information session.  Petition packets will be accepted until mid July for consideration into the MLT classes beginning in the fall term.

The petition packet must contain documentation of: 1)  a high school diploma or equivalent, 2)  CNM transcript, or 3)  transcripts from all post-secondary schools previously attended sent to CNM’s Record Office for a transfer equivalency worksheet (allow three-four weeks), 4)  a completed CNM application with date declaring MLT as your major, and 5)  cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Students are responsible for meeting the eligibility requirements.   In the event that the number of petitioners exceeds the program capacity, completion of general college courses, grade point average, and wait time will be used as a selection criteria.  The petition process is subject to change.

Applicants should petition when they are currently enrolled in their remaining prerequisite courses (see MLT Course Sequence) in the summer term.
