RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM

Program Begins in January

INFORMATION SESSIONS:  All students interested in the Radiologic Technology Program should attend an Information Session.  The purpose of the session is to provide academic advisement and to discuss the Petition Process for selection to begin the Rad Tech major courses.  Information will also be given about program prerequisites, required courses, selection process and employment opportunities in this field.  General questions pertaining to the major will be answered.

To obtain dates for Information sessions and Petition sessions, read the web page for the Radiologic Technology program at CNM.

You do not need to attend an information session in order to petition.  You may proceed directly to a Petition Session and will be considered for enrollment provided you bring the required documentation.  You are responsible for knowing all information to successful petition.

PETITION SESSIONS:  The “Petition for Selection” process allows us to choose the 24 students who will enroll in the Rad Tech classes in January of Each year. In order to be considered for selection, you must complete the “Petition Process” that will provide us with documentation necessary to determine which students will enter the Program each January. You must attend and be on time for one of the Group Petition Sessions and bring the required documentation to complete the process. If you cannot come to one of the group sessions, you will need to arrange for an Individual Petition Session by appointment by e-mailing your desire to petition to  pwilder@cnm.edu

Students must petition for selection into the Radiologic Technology program.  To be considered they will need to have a high school diploma or equivalent, be a CNM student and declare Radiologic Technology as a major, establish a CNM GPA of 2.0 or higher.  Ranking for admission will be based upon completion of all the pre-requisite, required Arts & Sciences Courses for the Associate of Science Degree in Radiologic Technology.  In addition the declared major date and the number of times a student petitions after they have completed all prerequisite arts and science classes and declared Radiologic Technology as you’re major at CNM  may also be used in the selection process. The last petitioning session ends the petition process and no more additional petitions will be accepted after that date and time

RequiredDocuments For Petition Sessions:

1. Student copy of CNM Admissions form with declared date on form (or change of major form) that declares Radt Tech as your major.

2. Student (official) copy of transcripts that shows completion of General Education (Arts & Science) courses for the Associate of Science Degree with grades of “C” or better.

3. Transfer Equivalency Worksheet: If you are transferring courses from another college, have your official transcripts mailed to the CNM Records Office. You will receive a list of the courses which will transfer for credit to CNM from the CNM Registrar. Do this before petition session so that courses will appear on CNM transcript.

The following Arts & Sciences classes successfully completed (grade "C" or better) will be considered for selection:
