Streaming media allows CNM's students, faculty, and staff on-demand access of audio, video, and multimedia files over the Internet. These files are distributed by a streaming server at Main Campus and are received and displayed in real-time by a media player on the end-user's computer. The streamed media files are simultaneously downloaded and viewed but there are no physical files left behind on the receiving computer.
IMR's Media Production unit creates, stores, and distributes streaming media content in support of a wide variety of CNM instructional and non-instructional projects. Our professional digital media staff guide faculty and staff through all phases of the production process to help them create engaging, media-rich instructional and informational materials. Appropriate technology and effective pedagogy are brought together to enhance CNM's ability to share important information with our community.
