Infrastructure comprises three functional areas:
The Network team supports CNM's Wide Area Network (WAN) connecting all four campuses. Connections to CNM's network are provided by this team. ITS houses systems requiring access to both private and public network within and external to CNM. These systems are protected using firewall technology.
The Telecommunications team supports CNM's Voice Mail System which includes 1800 telephones and 2000 voicemail boxes. Additional support is provided for wide area circuits for voice, video, and data to the Montoya, South Valley, Work Force Training, and CNM Westside Facilities. Numbering plans, call accounting, dial tone, and long distance services are provided as well.
UNIX System Administration Support
The UNIX team provides support for the Institute's administrative application (Banner) servers. The UNIX team also supports web, Oracle database applications, student email, file and print services.
CNM's Office of Information Technology Services, Infrastructure Support and CNM's Physical Plant Department maintain a comprehensive standards manual for structured cable plant design, installation and maintenance. The CISM follows the CSI Master Format 2004 and defines CNM's expectations for Division 27, Communications. All CNM employees and contractors engaged in operational support, renovations and new construction involving communications infrastructure are expected to be familiar with and adhere to the CISM.
