April 27, 2017 -- For those who are retired or nearing retirement, Central New Mexico Community College is hosting a seminar to help retirees learn how to stay engaged in the workforce through a second career or how to share their valuable knowledge as a volunteer in the community.
April 20, 2017 -- CNM’s FUSE Makerspace will be setting up shop in a much larger, higher profile location in late summer, when it moves to the Innovate ABQ research and innovation site in Downtown Albuquerque. Mayor Richard Berry made the announcement during a press conference on Wednesday in the future home of FUSE, the former Noon Day shelter turned Epicenter, which is right across the parking lot from the University of New Mexico’s Rainforest Building that is expected to open this summer on the seven-acre property.

April 12, 2017 -- Dual Credit CNM student and Sandia High School graduating senior Kathleen Hess is one of 30 middle and high school students in the state selected to attend StarTalk, a free intensive Arabic-language program at the University of New Mexico June 26-July 14.
April 12, 2017 -- Award-winning author Jimmy Santiago-Baca will be the keynote speaker at CNM’s annual Authors Event Wednesday, April 19, from 6-8 p.m. in the Jeannette Stromberg Library in the Student Resource Center on Main Campus. The date of the event has been changed.
April 11, 2017 -- Workshops ranging from healthy snack making to isolating DNA from your own cells and from building a robot from a Raspberry Pi computer to writing and producing a movie script will be part of CNM’s Summer Camp for middle and high school students on June 16. Full- and half-day workshops will be available.

Truck Driving Program Adds Classes for Drivers Returning to the Profession and Aspiring Owner-Operators
April 11, 2017 -- CNM is adding two new truck driving classes offered through the School of Applied Technologies – one will help former truck drivers get the training they need to start driving for a living again and the other will help those with a Commercial Drivers License learn what it takes to be a successful owner-operator in the trucking industry.

April 4, 2017 -- Sixteen CNM students will be competing in the National SkillsUSA Championships after winning gold medals in their competitions during the New Mexico SkillsUSA competition that was held last week at the college. The nationals will be held in Louisville, Ky., June 19-24.

March 28, 2017 -- A team of four CNM students will be participating in an international robotic competition, "Pi Wars," in Cambridge, England, this weekend. The CNM team will be the only representative from the U.S.
March 22, 2017 -- Several CNM student artists will display their work at an exhibit titled “21 Aspects” at 5G North Gallery in Albuquerque, 1715 Fifth Street NW, April 19-28. A reception honoring the exhibition will be held Friday, April 21 from 6-8 p.m.
March 20, 2017 -- A CNM student team won first place at the 2017 National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) competition in Silver Spring, Maryland, which took place March 13-17.
