CNM, APS Partner to Open Early College High School on Main Campus in Fall

CNM and Albuquerque Public Schools are teaming up to open a high school on CNM’s Main Campus this fall. The new school will provide students with a curriculum that focuses on dual credit opportunities, allowing students to graduate from high school with a CNM certificate, associate degree or enough college credits to enter a university as a junior. The school, which will be named soon, will operate in the S Building on Main Campus. Students will spend half of the day in high school classes taught by APS teachers, then spend the other half of the day in CNM college classes. CNM will offer students at the school with educational pathways that lead to high-quality jobs in the region. Families or students interested in learning more or how to enroll for the school can visit www.aps.edu/aps-cnm.

His study is titled “Transitional College Writers and the Conversation on Error and Standardization Across the Curriculum.” It examines professional attitudes toward basic English and second language learners and their ability to produce standard written English. Use Online Employee Directory for Updated Employee Contact Information While the Global Address List in Outlook Is Being Updated

Some employees have had their phone extensions changed recently as part of a major upgrade to the phone system at CNM. The most up-to-date source for employee contact information at this time is the online “Employee Directory,” which can be accessed at the bottom-middle of cnm.edu under the headline “Faculty & Staff.” The Global Address List in Outlook is in the process of being updated.

As part of the phone system project, staff members will be assigned one of three different types of phone extensions – a personal extension, a position extension or a function extension. Go to www.cnm.edu/phonechanges for more information about the types of extensions and for a list of frequently asked questions. Changes to faculty members’ phone numbers/extensions were part of an earlier phase of this project last year – no new changes will be made to faculty phone numbers or extensions. An update on which departments have been assigned new phone extensions so far will be provided in next week’s News Link.

New Employee Memorial Celebrated at Rededication Event

CNM President Kathie Winograd talked about the legacy of CNM employees during a rededication ceremony of the new employee memorial on May 8, when colleagues and family members of late CNM employees joined on the north lawn of the Main Campus Student Resource Center. Go to www.cnm.edu/facultystaffnews to read more and see pictures of the new memorial.

Level of Banner Access for Employees To Be Determined by Position Beginning July 1

Starting July 1, the level of access to CNM’s Banner system for individual employees will be based upon the classification that is assigned to each employee’s position. The level of Banner access assigned to each position will not affect an employee’s ability to perform the duties of their job. The new system will go into effect for most employees on July 1. This initiative has been led by CNM’s Role-Based Security Team and is designed to increase the security of information in Banner. If you have questions about this effort, call the Office of Planning and Institutional Effectiveness at 224-3450 (ext. 4-3450).
