First Class of College & Career High School Students to Graduate at CNM Ceremony Saturday

The College & Career High School’s first class of graduating seniors will be celebrated at CNM’s Spring Graduation Ceremony on Saturday at Tingley Coliseum. The CCHS grads are exiting the school with plenty of college credits on their transcripts. Read more.

New Convocation Schedule Announced

The 2014 CNM Convocation schedule has been set. Rather than having lunch together as in years past, at this year’s Convocation employees will join together for breakfast at 8 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 22. Here’s the rest of the Convocation schedule:

  • 8:45-10:45 a.m. – Convocation program.
  • 10:45 a.m.-noon – The Academic Affairs Division, the Finance and Operations Division and the President’s Division will meet separately for division breakout sessions. The Student Services Division will return to work to serve students preparing for the Fall Term. Student Services will have a breakout session at a later date.
  • 12:30 p.m. – All CNM employees return to work.

Emergency Alert System Being Upgraded

CNM is in the process of upgrading its Emergency Alert System, which includes text alerts for emergencies and school closings or delays. A test message with details about updating your information will be sent on Monday. The new system, which will offer more robust notification options, is scheduled to launch on Friday, May 9. If you are already signed up to receive text alerts through the current system, your information will automatically be transferred to the new system. Next week, you may receive some test messages as the system is prepared for launch.

CNM Offering Fast Track Associate Degree in Business Administration

For students interested in getting on a faster track to an associate degree in Business Administration, CNM is offering an Fast Track program that will begin with an initial cohort of students in the 2014 Fall Term. Applications are now being accepted. Interested students can attend an information session on Tuesday, May 6, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Smith Brasher Hall, Room 100. New Mexico College Reading and Learning Conference to be Held at Westside Campus July 18

The 2014 New Mexico College Reading & Learning Association will hold its annual conference at CNM’s Westside Campus on July 18 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The theme of this year’s conference is “Engaging Learners: Texts, Conversations, & Communities.” Registration is $60 for the full conference, which includes a continental breakfast and lunch, as well as a NMCRLA membership. Students can attend at a discounted rate of $15, which includes the continental breakfast and lunch. Proposals to present at the conference are now being accepted. CNM Lauded for E-Waste Recycling Efforts

Celebrate Kelly Mentzer’s Life at Memorial Wall on Friday
You’re invited to join in a celebration of the life of Kelly Mentzer, a beloved member of the CNM community who passed away in August 2013. Kelly was the director of Information Technology Services from 2000-2006, and he was a member of the CNM/TVI community for many years prior to his tenure as director. Kelly's friends, family and former colleagues will gather at CNM’s Memorial Wall, located just north of the Student Resource Center, on Friday, May 2, at 12:30 p.m., to share memories and honor his life.
