No Classes, But Offices Remain Open During Spring Break March 11-17
No classes will be held but offices will remain open for Spring Break, March 11-17. Classes will resume their regular schedules on March 18.
Student Email Outage Changed to March 11-16
Due to necessary maintenance, students' myCNM e-mail accounts will not be functional from 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, through 6 p.m. on Friday, March 16, which is during the week of Spring Break. Distance Learning will not be affected by the outage. For more information, contact the ITS Service Desk at 224-4357 or e-mail ITSServiceDesk@cnm.edu .

Join the Conversation about Campus Diversity
Faculty and staff members are invited to join in a conversation called "Inclusive Excellence: Conversations about Campus Diversity" on March 22 from 11 a.m. to noon in the Student Resource Center, Room 202D. The discussion will focus on current practices used to engage in integrating diversity, excellence, and inclusion efforts into our institutional operations. Volunteers Needed for College-Wide Action Projects — Application Deadline March 23
The Strategic Planning Team is seeking your help to steer the next large improvement initiatives at the college. Four Action Projects have been selected and volunteers are needed to serve on the following Action Project Teams:
- Universal Design: developing a more coordinated approach to compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) and to eliminate barriers for all people at CNM.
- First Year Experience Continuation: continue progress on earlier recommendations and develop the Faculty for Student Success model.
- Student Engagement: developing mechanisms to improve student engagement and support students through mentoring.
- Employee Development: developing systems that improve new employee orientation, succession planning, and career progression options.
Each of the projects will be led by a team of individuals representing multiple departments across the college. Teams meet approximately two times per month and the membership commitment will be approximately 1 year. Electrical Outage at Westside Campus on Sunday, March 18 On Sunday, March 18 from 7 a.m. to noon, the Westside Campus will be without electricity due to construction on the Westside Phase III building. Employees do not need to unplug appliances, but please be sure that all documents have been saved and computers are shut down.

Events Upcoming for Students Planning to Transfer to Universities
On March 20 and 21, Academic Advisement will host a University Transfer Fair and TRiO Student Support Services will host a transfer workshop open to all students immediately before the transfer fairs begin. Representatives from 16 New Mexico colleges and universities are scheduled to participate. Students will have the opportunity to learn about the specifics of transferring and get a chance to chat with representatives from colleges and universities across the state.

Read to Me Program Seeking Book Donations
The CNM Foundation is currently accepting donated books for children until March 31. Books will go to benefit children in the community through the Albuquerque Business & Education Compact. Contact the CNM Foundation at 224-4686 if you would like to donate books. They can be picked up, you can put them in interoffice mail or drop them off at the Foundation Office on Main Campus, A Building, Room 130.
Dunkin' Donuts to Contribute to Rust Scholarship Every Second Thursday of the Month
The Dunkin' Donuts on the corner of Central Ave. and Mesa St., just north of Main Campus, will be donating a portion of its sale proceeds to the Rust Opportunity Scholarship every second Thursday of the month. The Rust Scholarship provides emergency financial assistance to CNM students who are facing unexpected financial difficulties. If you present a flyer from the CNM Foundation upon purchase, 20 percent of the proceeds from your purchase will be donated to the scholarship fund. This donation will only take place at the above Dunkin' Donuts location and you must present a flyer upon purchase . To obtain a flyer, stop by the Foundation in the A Building, room 130 on Main Campus or call 224-4685.
Make Your Voice Heard on Academic Calendar Proposal Blog
Weigh in with your thoughts about the Academic Calendar proposal through an interactive blog discussing the pros and cons of moving the college from the current three-term schedule to a semester-based schedule. The blog now has a discussion board feature. After logging on to the blog, look for the "Discussion Board" link in the upper left column. The blog is hosted in Blackboard Learn. Attached to this e-mail is a set of instructions to enroll for the blog. Even if you're currently a Blackboard user, you will need to "self-enroll" to access the blog. Use your regular CNM username and password to log in and follow the attached directions. Go to http://learn.cnm.edu/ to join in the discussion. ITS Service Desk to Have Adjusted Hours during Spring Break
During the CNM Spring Break, the ITS Service Desk will have abbreviated hours from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, March 12, through Friday, March 16. The Service Desk will return to normal hours (Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.) on Monday, March 19.
How Should We Accommodate People with Disabilities on cnm.edu?
This week on the CNM Website Redesign blog, learn more about ways to better accommodate people with disabilities on the cnm.edu website, and the guidelines CNM is required to follow related to the Americans with Disabilities Act. The Website Redesign Team has created the blog to share the process of the website redesign with the CNM community as it progresses. Visit redesign.cnm.edu to get a sneak peak at developments as the redesign takes shape.
Due to Construction Project, Main Campus ATM Being Removed
The CU Anytime ATM located near University Blvd. and Basehart Rd. in the parking lot near Smith Brasher Hall will be removed due to a construction project. Plans are in the works for alternate ATM options in the area when construction is complete.
Celebrate Women's History Month Through Spoken Word Event
A spoken word event to celebrate Women's History Month will be held on March 20 at noon at the Rio Rancho Campus library. If you would like to participate, please bring a poem to read or choose from selected books in the library. ITS will soon be preparing the CNM computer labs for the upcoming Summer 2012 term by completing computer lab imaging. ITS staff would like to encourage faculty to review the schedule and provide feedback if there are issues or concerns by contacting the ITS Service Desk at firstname.lastname@example.org , or calling 224-4495.

- Need documentation of academic software changes & updates for all computer classrooms/labs (Updated test plans due)
- April 7 — Build and deployment of 2012 Summer "test image" for faculty/lab staff review
- "System Under Construction" signs up on test systems in academic computer labs/classrooms
- April 12 — Deployment of 2012 Summer test image is complete
- Post "Ready for testing" signs on select computer systems in academic computer labs/classrooms
- ITS portion of "Image Management Test Plans" are due to Academic Affairs
- April 13 — Chair, faculty and lab staff begin review of 2012 Summer test image — lab staff go through test plans
- Feedback corrections to ITS for 2012 Summer test images
- April 25 — Chair, faculty and lab staff conclude review of test image
- Corrections made to test image — retest images as necessary
- April 27 — Image for next semester is finalized — "Frozen"
