Faculty Letters of Appointment for Summer Term Issued Beginning June 4

Letters of Appointment for faculty are scheduled to be issued during the week of June 4-8. They will be distributed to CNM instructors’ email addresses from the Faculty Contracts Administrator (  The subject line will read “Summer 2012 Contracts.” To avoid any interruptions in receiving pay, instructors should expedite review and acceptance of the Letters of Appointment and respond to the email with an “I accept” reply no later than 5 p.m. on June 22 . Faculty members who teach for more than one school will receive separate LOAs for each respective school.

Part-time faculty members’ first paycheck for full-term courses is scheduled for Friday, June 22. Pay for short-term courses is scheduled to begin on June 22 or later depending on the start date of the class. Pay for late-start classes will begin the pay period of when courses are taught. There are seven pay periods in the summer term.

my CNM Email Being Phased Out — All Employee Email in my CNM Moved to Outlook

The my CNM email system is in the process of being eliminated from use at CNM. Because of the upcoming discontinuance of the my CNM email service, all CNM employee my CNM email has been transferred to the Microsoft Exchange (Outlook) environment, the official email system for CNM employees.

Faculty, however, will still be able to communicate with their students through the “myCourses” messaging system in my CNM , which is separate from the my CNM email system.

Some employees have used my CNM as their primary email service. If you had been using my CNM email, please note that your email address, username and password are the same in Microsoft Outlook. But you can no longer access your email from the my CNM environment.

Accessing your email in Outlook:

  • From an offsite location, you can access your Microsoft Outlook email account by going to the front page of — click on the “Faculty & Staff Resources” link in the left-hand column of the front page, then click on the “Employee Email” link. You will then use your regular CNM username and password to access your email through Microsoft Outlook.
  • Or, you can bookmark the following Web address for your Microsoft Outlook account --
  • If you are on the CNM network on a CNM computer, you can also access Microsoft Outlook by clicking on the Microsoft Outlook icon on your desktop.

If emails are sent to your my CNM account, they will automatically be forwarded to your Microsoft Outlook account. If you had the auto-forward option set in your my CNM account, directing your incoming emails to a non-CNM account, this option does not carry over to the Outlook environment.

Only the email component of my CNM is being discontinued — the rest of the functions in my CNM will remain the same.

CNM student email accounts will be moved from the my CNM email environment to a Google email service in mid-June.

Join the Conversation about Campus Diversity

Some Westside Departments Relocating for Summer, Fall Terms

Due to upcoming renovation projects in the Michael J. Glennon Building at Westside Campus, some departments have relocated for the summer and fall terms. The Westside Library has moved to MJG 108 and the Assistance Centers for Education has moved to MJG 113. Both departments will transition to the new Westside Phase III building upon its opening in January 2013.

ITS Maintenance May Cause Outages this Summer
Due to some upgrades and maintenance that ITS will be performing this summer, the following outages may occur:

  • Saturday, June 30, 8 a.m.-midnight — There will be no access to Banner, email, the front page of, the K and I Drives, Sharepoint, my CNM and voicemail. Anyone on campus will still have phone service and access to Black Board.
  • Saturday, July 21, 8 a.m.-midnight — Possible intermittent internet outages may occur.

Main Campus Art Program Studios Move to North Building
The art studios at Main Campus, previously located in the South Temporary Buildings, have moved to the North (N) Building.

New CNM Fact Book Now Available
The Institutional Research Department has released the 2011-12 CNM Fact Book, your guide to a wide variety of CNM facts and figures related to enrollment, degrees and certificates, student demographics, the organizational chart, and much more. In addition to the Fact Book, new CNM Quick Facts that include retention and course success rates are also available.
