Paid Parking Permits on Sale – New Online Process for Free General Parking
Main Campus paid parking permits for the fall term are on sale for $43. The process for purchasing paid parking permits remains the same for the fall term. The process for obtaining the free parking decal for all general parking lots on Main Campus and the other campuses has changed for the fall term. Before picking up a free parking decal, students and employees must register their vehicle information online in my CNM . After registering vehicle info online, the free parking decals can be picked up at the locations listed below.
To access the online system for the free general parking sticker, follow these steps:
Step 1: Log in to my CNM .
Step 2: Click on the “CNM Parking Permits” link located with the Transportation section on the “Welcome” page in my CNM .
Step 3: Complete and submit the registration information for each vehicle.
Step 4: Go to one of the following locations after you have registered your vehicle to pick up your free general parking permit sticker:

CNM’s disabled parking permits will continue to be obtained by visiting the Disability Resource Center at Main and Montoya campuses. Call CNM Parking Services for questions or for more information at 224-4637.
Changes to Prescription Drug Coverage
Medco, the prescription drug benefit plan provided by New Mexico Public Schools Insurance Authority (NMPSIA) has implemented the following changes, which went into effect July 1. If you regularly fill prescriptions at Walgreens, take note that copayments will be higher. You can transfer your prescription from Walgreens to another retail pharmacy to save money, or use the Medco Mail Order Program.
— Copayments are $3 for a 30 day supply at retail non-Walgreens participating pharmacies (formulary diabetic medications/supplies will remain $0 at these non-Walgreens pharmacies).
— Copayments are $8 at Walgreens pharmacies (copays for diabetic medications/supplies will be charged at Walgreens pharmacies).
— Copayments are $7.50 for Medco Mail Order for a 90-day supply (formulary diabetic medications/supplies will remain $0 at mail order).
Brand-Name Formulary Drugs
— 30 percent of the discounted cost with a minimum out-of-pocket cost of $18 and maximum of $50 at retail non-Walgreens participating pharmacies (formulary diabetic medications/supplies will remain $0 at these non-Walgreens pharmacies)
— 30 percent of the discounted cost with a minimum out-of-pocket cost of $23 and maximum of $55 at Walgreens pharmacies (copays for diabetic medications/supplies will be charged at Walgreens pharmacies)
— Copayments are $45 at Medco Mail Order for a 90-day supply (formulary diabetic medications/supplies will remain $0 at mail order)
Copayments are $100 for a 30-day supply. After you pay $1,000 in specialty copays for the calendar year (Jan. 1 – Dec. 31), your copays for these specialty drugs will be reduced ($7.50 generic; $45 preferred; 70 percent non-preferred) for the remainder of the calendar year.

Montoya Campus Student Services Unavailable August 6-9
Student Services at Montoya Campus will close from August 6-9 while offices move from their current locations to the newly-renovated Tom Wiley Hall. This includes the following offices:
— Academic Advisement and Job Connection Services (includes Career Resource Center)
— Assessment (testing)
— CNM Connect
— Montoya Campus Administration
— Disability Resource Center
— Enrollment Services
— Financial Aid
— Student ID Office
All other offices at the campus will remain open and classes will continue as usual. Student Services offices will reopen on Friday, Aug 10, in Tom Wiley Hall. Students can access all services at Main, South Valley or Westside campuses.

Distance Learning Upgrading to Blackboard Learn Service Pack 8, Trainings Scheduled
CNM will be upgrading to Blackboard Learn Service Pack 8 (SP8) on August 15, 2012. SP8 offers a number of new features, including interface changes, backgrounds and themes, task-based navigation, an automatic re-grading option, negative marking for assessments, and improved activity reports. Distance Learning is offering several trainings to help Distance Learning faculty transition to SP8. On Tuesday, Aug. 14, faculty new to Blackboard Learn can attend a two-hour Blackboard Bootcamp in room I-102 at the Montoya Campus from 9-11 a.m. This training will cover building and editing courses in Blackboard Learn 9 SP8. For faculty already familiar with Blackboard Learn, Distance Learning will offer a “What’s New in SP8” training in room MJG-107 at the Westside Campus from 1-2 p.m. on Aug. 14 This training covers only the features introduced with the new Service Pack. This training will be repeated on Thursday, Aug. 23, at 9 a.m. in SRC 103 at Main Campus and offered as a webinar on Aug. 24 at 9 a.m.

Get a Special Key Tag, Shop at Albertsons Grocery Stores, and CNM Foundation Receives Part of Sales
The CNM Foundation has partnered with Albertsons Grocery Stores as part of its Community Partners program. The CNM Foundation will earn one percent of every sale when shoppers present a Community Partners key tag with their purchase. One percent of sales will be donated to the Foundation up to $50,000, and after that, all purchases made with a key tag will earn the Foundation five percent. Community Partners key tags are available on request by contacting Marshall Quam at email@example.com or 224-4686.
Save the Date to Volunteer for Suncat Days
In the coming weeks, all CNM employees will be encouraged to volunteer for this year’s Suncat Days campaign, during which employees will be stationed throughout all campuses to help students navigate the first week of the fall term. Volunteer shifts will be available Aug. 27-30. Begin looking at your calendar to see when you can volunteer for a two-hour shift during the first week of the fall term. More information about registering for shifts will be available soon.
Changes in Administration in the School of Business and Information Technology
Barbara Johnston, formerly the faculty chair for Computer Information Systems, will be serving as the interim associate dean of the School of Business and Information Technology. Replacing Johnston as CIS faculty chair will be Catherine Hain.
Service Desk Has Abbreviated Hours Between Terms
The ITS Service Desk will have abbreviated hours from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Friday, Aug. 10, through Friday, Aug. 24. The Service Desk will return to normal hours (Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.) on Monday, Aug. 27, with additional hours on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the first four weeks of term, until Sept. 22.
Human Resources Providing Free Diabetic Glucose Meters
For CNM employees that are currently covered by one of the New Mexico Public Schools Insurance Authority (NMPSIA) Medical Plans (Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico or Presbyterian Health Plan), you are eligible to obtain a free glucose meter from CNM’s Human Resources Department. You may pick up a meter for you and each of your family members who are enrolled on the plan and have the need for one of these meters. These meters use formulary strips that have a $0 copayment when you fill the strips with a prescription at a non-Walgreens pharmacy, or when you use Medco Mail Order. If you are interested in a free glucose meter, please contact your HR Technician at 224-4600.

Start the new academic year by participating in a "Fresh Start" event in conjunction with the demolition of the outdated buildings on Buena Vista Blvd. near the intersection with Coal Ave. on Main Campus. Be on the look-out for more news about the upcoming demolition of the buildings. New Computer Lab Opens at Westside
The Michael J Glennon Building now houses a new computer lab in room 115 with 32 workstations for students.
Fall ITS Computer Lab Imaging Schedule Available
ITS will soon be preparing the CNM computer labs for the upcoming fall term by completing computer lab imaging. ITS staff would like to encourage faculty to review the schedule and provide feedback if there are issues or concerns by contacting the ITS Service Desk at firstname.lastname@example.org, or calling 224-4495.
- July 27 – Chair, faculty and lab staff conclude review of test image.
- Corrections made to test image – retest images as necessary.
- Aug. 3 – Image for next semester is finalized.
- Post signs that “Official 2012 Fall image for Room: ______”
- Begin image deployment in select computer labs/classrooms (as room schedules allow).
- Academic Affairs portion of “Image Management Test Plans” are due back to ITS.
- Aug. 6 – Deployment of final images begins.
- Begin image deployment in all computer labs/classrooms (as room schedules allow).
- Aug. 10 – Second Stage Deployment of final images begins.
- Summer Term ends (Aug. 12).
- Continue image deployment in all computer labs/classrooms.
- Any computer labs or classrooms in use during break must be handled with ITS and Lab Supervisors.
