Made possible by an anonymous donor in honor of her grandmother, the Aspire-Education and Community Dual Credit Presidential Scholarship will be awarded to a student who will pursue a degree at CNM and involved in community service.
Other educational expenses, such as a laptop, can be purchased with any remaining funds which will be placed on your CNM account. The selected recipient will also have the opportunity for career mentorship with the donor.
The Aspire-Education and Community Dual Credit Presidential Scholarship award is $2,500 per year to pay for educational expenses such as tuition, registration, course and textbook fees.
Am I Eligible?
To be eligible to apply for the Dual Credit Presidential Scholarship applicants must have completed at least six credits through CNM’s Dual Credit Program with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and have met with a CNM Achievement Coach to document your Curriculum Advising Program Plan. Students with a business related degree, enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours, with plans to complete their degree within two years will be considered first for awards. Applicants with a history of service project participation are preferred.
The selected recipient must commit to twelve credits during the fall and spring terms with a 3.0 cumulative GPA and complete the degree within four consecutive terms. Each term requires a meeting with a CNM Connect Achievement Coach to assess progress on the Curriculum Advising Program Plan.
As the scholarship is intended to reward students who are contributing service to the community, you are also required to submit a one-page essay explaining your ongoing volunteer and community service prior to the start of the fall term.
To apply for the scholarship you must submit a FASFA, a scholarship application, your Curriculum Advising Program Plan and a one page essay outlining any volunteer and community service you’ve participated in as a high school student.
Print all documents and submit the completed packet to CNM Scholarship Office, attention Fredreka Smith, by June 1st. Students can mail the completed packet to:

Award letters will be sent to myCNM email accounts on July 1st. Remember to check your email! The selected recipient is required to send a thank you letter to the donor.
