Central New Mexico Community College will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Day 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8 at the Student Services Center Patio on the Main Campus at 900 University Blvd. S.E.

Spanish translators will be available to help people apply for admission to CNM and find out how to register for classes such as English as a Second Language, GED, associate degree and certificate programs. CNM staff will be available to talk about education and career opportunities. Students do not have to be a U.S. citizen to be eligible for classes.

Many organizations offering services to the Hispanic community will be on hand. Entertainment will be provided by Aztec Dancers, Ballet Lumbre, Latin American Music, Mariachis and more.

The event is expected to draw 400 visitors, including students from Albuquerque Public Schools
