CNM Holds First Fall Commencement
Central New Mexico Community College will host its first ever fall commencement ceremony at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12 at the University of New Mexico’s Johnson Center.
Approximately 250 graduates are expected to participate in the ceremony with nearly 3,000 supporters to cheer them on. CNM added the fall ceremony to provide more students the opportunity to don a cap and gown in a memorable graduation experience.
Susan Wilson will be the keynote speaker. Wilson, a member of CNM’s Alumni Association, was a mother of two small children when she began her liberal arts education at CNM. In 1995, Wilson earned her associate’s degree with the highest honors before transferring to UNM, where she earned her bachelor’s degree and summa cum laude honors. Today, she is the director of public relations and marketing for Lovelace Health Systems.
She is also on the CNM Foundation Board and remains a strong advocate for CNM and the power of education.
“I am truly honored to be the keynote speaker at CNM’s commencement,” Wilson said. “As an alumnus, I am humbled to be able to take part in this celebration, which is so meaningful to those who have reached this educational milestone. I applaud all of the graduating students who have worked so hard to achieve this goal.”
CNM President Kathie Winograd will also speak to students and congratulate them on their success.
