Faculty Electronic Leave Forms Due Friday
Beginning with the current pay period, payroll and leave reporting processes for full-time and part-time faculty have changed. An electronic leave reporting process has been implemented within the academic schools. If you are a faculty member and you took leave this pay period, your electronic Leave Request Form is due tomorrow (Friday, Sept. 11). Attached at the top of this e-mail are instructions on how to submit leave requests through the new Leave Request Form. Below shows you where the Leave Request Form resides in myCNM under the “Instruction” tab. Faculty members will complete and submit their electronic Leave Request Form to their supervisor. The supervisor will review and approve or return the leave request to the faculty member for additional information via electronic processes. The current paper Leave Request form will no longer be used by full-time and part-time faculty.

New Initiative Requires Supervisors to Ensure Mandatory Training for New Employees
Effective Sept. 28, supervisors must complete and submit the Mandatory Training Form to Human Resources prior to a new employee’s attendance of New Employee Orientation Phase I. It is the responsibility of the supervisor to identify in the Mandatory Training Form which pre-work mandatory trainings the employee must complete prior to beginning their regular job duties. Of the five pre-work trainings identified on the form, three (NEO Phase I, FERPA, Information Security) must be completed by all employees. The remaining two trainings (Defensive Driving, Bloodborne Pathogens) are required for specific employee groups prior to beginning their job duties. This is a new initiative in an effort to further ensure that all new employees receive their required training prior to the start of their work duties.
Employees will complete NEO Phase I in Human Resources on their date of hire. Following that two-hour session, the employee will proceed directly to the Organizational Learning Technology Education Center (Main Campus, S-21), where they will complete all of their required pre-work trainings. Employees must be prepared to spend the necessary time to complete NEO in Human Resources and then the time to complete the trainings in the Organizational Learning office.
Additional information, including links to the new Mandatory Training Form and the Mandatory Training Policy will be provided in an upcoming communication. For questions, call Ext. 4704.
