MSE Learning Outcomes Assessment

Assessment practices are used to improve our ability to facilitate student achievement as well as document our institutional effectiveness.  Student learning is measured at the course, departmental, and degree levels.  There are three currently defined levels of assessment but common components exist across the all.
  • Identification / definition of core competencies or unifying themes across the level
  • Diagnosis of our current methods of measurement of these competencies / themes
  • Diagnosis / measurement of student performance
  • Action plan for improvement (closing the loop)
  • Plan to track the effectiveness of an implemented action plan (closing the loop)
