Parking Permit Vehicle Registration

General Parking Permit:

To access the online parking system for the general parking permit, please follow these steps:

  • Go to cnm.edu and click on the myCNM link
  • Login to your account
  • In the Transportation Channel on the Welcome Tab, click CNM parking permits
  • You are now in the CNM Parking Services system, click on CNM parking permits
  • Select the term you would like to purchase a permit for and click continue
  • Select the ‘General Permit’ tab and click continue
  • If the vehicle has not already been registered, please add the vehicle information below at the bottom of the page and click add vehicle
  • You will need to confirm the information on the pop up message
  • Select OK to add the vehicle.
  • Select the vehicle and confirm your permit selection on the pop up message
  • Click ‘Print This Page’ to obtain a printed copy that will need to be brought with you to one of the locations provided below. Individuals picking up the general permit must present a valid driver’s license and CNM ID.

Locations to pick up general parking permit -- good for all general parking lots:

  • Main Campus, Security Office
  • Montoya Campus, Security Office
  • Westside Campus, Security Office
  • South Valley Campus, Admissions Office
  • Rio Rancho Campus, Admissions Office
  • Advanced Technology Center, South Entrance Reception Desk

 

The General Parking Permit must be placed on the lower left back driver side window on the exterior of the vehicle. Improper display of permits may result in a citation(s). See example below.

Why CNM General Parking Permits are required:

Safety - When vehicles are registered, individuals can be notified if their:

  • Vehicle is blocking traffic
  • Vehicle needs to be moved in an emergency
  • Vehicle has been vandalized or damaged

This parking permit will allow the parking services department to contact the owner to move a vehicle, rather than to tow it.

Parking Space Occupancy - Parking space occupancy on all CNM property

  • General Permits allow the parking services department to ensure that the parking lots are being used by CNM student and employees only.

 Identification Purposes - These permits assist to identify individuals for emergency purposes.

 

Paid Parking Permit:

Paid parking permits will cost $43. Vehicle registration for a paid parking permit is available online through myCNM. After going through the online process, you can pay for the permit online or pay at the Cashier’s Office. The permits must be picked up at the CNM Main Campus Cashier’s Office whether you pay online or at the Cashier’s Office. Individuals picking up permits at the Cashier’s Office must show their driver’s license and CNM ID. Those who have the cost of a paid parking permit automatically deducted from your paycheck do not have to go through the online process.

CNM Paid Parking Permit Online Vehicle Registration:

  • Go to cnm.edu and click on the myCNM link
  • Login to your account
  • In the Transportation Channel on the Welcome Tab, click CNM parking permits
  • You are now in the CNM Parking Services system, click on CNM parking permits
  • Select the term you would like to purchase a permit for and click continue
  • Select the lot you would like to purchase a permit for and click continue
  • Select the vehicle you would like to purchase a permit for
  • If the vehicle has not already been registered, please add the vehicle information below at the bottom of the page and click add vehicle
  • You will need to confirm the information on the pop up message
  • Select OK to add the vehicle.
  • Select the vehicle and then determine how you will make payment
  • Confirm your permit selection on the pop up message

Making Payment:

  • There are 2 payment options:
    1. Pay with Credit Card
    2. Pay at Cashiers
  • Pay with Credit Card: You will be directed to the payment page. Fill in the information and click continue.
  • Pay at Cashiers: Click on the ‘Pay at Cashiers’ tab and you will receive a Permit Confirmation page.
    • Financial Aid Payment: If you are a student and plan to pay with your financial aid for the term, you will need to click Pay at Cashiers. Your financial aid must be available in order to use this method.
  • Click ‘Print This Page’ to obtain a printed copy that will need to be brought with you to Main Campus Cashiers Office. Individuals picking up paid permits at the Cashier’s Office must present a valid driver’s license and CNM ID.
