Parking at CNM Campuses
All lots offer parking on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking on Main Campus offers two options. Reserved paid parking lots and non-paid general parking lots which include the Isotopes and UNM Stadium West lots.
General parking is extremely limited at Main Campus. General parking is located in the Smith Brasher Lots (all lots west of University Blvd), in front of the MS/SSC Buildings, and the BMX Lot. See Main Campus Map for details.
The UNM Stadium West lot and the Isotopes baseball parking lots are also available for CNM students, faculty, and staff. A general parking permit will be required to park in these additional parking areas. Parking in the UNM Stadium West and Isotopes lots are prohibited on game days and special events. Vehicles will be towed when parked in the lot during restricted times. See Main Campus Map for details.
Vehicle registration is done online through myCNM at no cost and the general parking permit (decal/sticker) can be picked up at the Security Office at Main Campus, Montoya Campus, and Westside Campus, Admissions Office at Rio Rancho Campus and South Valley Campus, and the Front Desk at the Advance Technology Center.
Visitor/Temporary parking permits are free of charge and may be obtained at the CNM CNM Maps & Directory for more details.The visitor parking permit can only be used in the general lots. At Main Campus, the general parking are located in the Smith Brasher Lots (all lots east of University Blvd), in front of the MS/SSC Buildings, and the BMX Lot. Reserved Paid Parking
Paid lots require a fee of $43.00 a term and are reserved for those who have purchased paid permits. The paid parking permits are available for purchase online through myCNM.
Paid permits are to be properly displayed from the rearview mirror. The paid parking lots include: North lot, Central lot, JS lot, PPD lots, TC lots, and the Upper SSC lot. See Main Campus Map for details.
Those who qualify for Financial Aid may use it to purchase a paid parking permit.
Annual paid parking permits are available for FULL-TIME CNM EMPLOYEES ONLY at a cost of $129 a year. Payroll deduction is available by contacting CNM Parking Services by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Meters are available at Main Campus and are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis for visitors and guests only. The meters are located in the following lots: SSC (lower) lot, TC lot, Central lot, JS lot, and PPD lot. The maximum time limit for a meter is 3 hours. The meters accept the following coins:
- Quarters: $0.25 equals 30 minutes
- Dimes: $0.10 equals 12 minutes
- Nickels: $0.05 equals 6 minutes
Meters displaying a red out of order cover are considered general parking.
Defective meters should be reported to the CNM Parking Services at (505) 224-4637.
All parking lots on the following CNM Campuses require a general parking permit: Montoya, Westside, South Valley, Rio Rancho, and Advanced Technology Center. All parking lots on these campuses are non-paid and are offered on a first-come first served basis.

Disabled parking permits are required on all CNM Campuses. Disabled parking permits are issued at no charge at the Disability Resource Center at Main and Montoya Campuses. Provide your state issued disabled placard and a valid driver’s license. If an individual has a disabled license plate then they must provide their vehicle registration. Vehicles displaying disabled placards or plates may park in a non-disabled parking space in the reserved/paid parking lots when disabled parking spaces are not available. Vehicles must display both a state issued disabled placard and a CNM Disabled Permit while parking on CNM property.
