CNM will assure that portable fire extinguishers are subjected to an annual maintenance check. Stored pressure extinguishers do not require an internal examination. The CNM Safety Office will record the annual maintenance date and retain this record for one year after the last entry. The record shall be available to OSHA, The Albuquerque Fire Department, and The Bernalillo County Fire Department, upon request.
Dry chemical extinguishers having non-refillable disposable containers are exempt from this requirement. In addition, the Security Department will visually inspect all fire extinguishers monthly. The CNM Safety Office will address all fire extinguishers deficiencies i.e. missing or discharged fire extinguishers.
