Location directions: From CNM Main Campus, Go West on Cesar Chavez across the Rio Grande River (Cesar Chavez becomes Bridge) Turn Left on Isleta Blvd to La Plazita Institute (831 Isleta Blvd)

Agency Description/Mission: La Plazita Institute is a local non-profit community based organization that serves the community in many diverse ways. We offer making a change programs for young men and women. Our philosophy is "La Cultura Cura" or Culture Heals through connection of who we are as human beings on the Earth and in the healing and solutions we can become through collaboration towards a more socially just, sacred and sustainable community.

Service Learning Opportunities: Leadership and community development, youth mentoring, business and entrepreneurship, art, music, design, holistic education, agriculture and local food systems. Organizational leadership opportunities.

Orientation/Training Schedule: To be determined

Special Conditions or Requirements: We welcome interested students who want to make the most of themselves as learners and in life. We invite all students who have a desire to contribute their gifts, talents and abilities towards solutions that enhance life and create sustainable communities.

Number of Service Learning Students needed: 1-3
Hours when Students are needed: As needed. Monday-Friday 9 am-5 pm, special events — weeknights and weekends
Minimum hour commitment required: : 15 per semester
