Location directions: From CNM main campus: Take Coal (one-way), continue on Zuni, turn left onto San Mateo, go 4 blocks past Central, turn left on Roma (before Lomas) and park. From I-40, exit south on San Mateo, slow down after the intersection at Lomas and turn on Roma, the first street on the right. Immediately park in the corner lot on the left. We are in the only 6 store building on Roma.

Agency description/mission: The Good Samaritan motto is "In Christ's Love, Everyone is Someone." We are open to people of all faiths. Our Wellness Programs accommodate from young adults to elder seniors who are new to exercise or returning from a sedentary lifestyle. We welcome any level of participation, as appropriate to each person. Our instructors are trained to adapt and individualize every aspect of the Fitness classes. The programs also include preventative health education through workshops and special events.

Service Learning opportunities: There are several ways to serve and learn: assisting participants on outings, helping in the cardio room, with weekly assessments or aside individuals who require assistance in fitness classes; record keeping or photo, video and graphics projects. Also data entry, light equipment maintenance, etc. marketing brochures, reminder phone calls. How would you like to help? What’s your major?

Orientation/Training schedule: Flexible schedule. Orientation includes 30 minute HIPPA video, tour and introductions.

Special conditions or requirements: Respect and caring for people of all ages. Bright-minded attention to detail. Sense of humor, a plus.

Number of Service-Learning Students Needed: Up to three.

Hours of operation when students are needed: Anytime between 9 am and 7 pm Monday–Friday; 10:00 am-4:00 pm Saturday

Minimum hour commitment required: Weekly 2 hours; Semester 15 hours
