CNM offers short-term counseling to any currently enrolled student. The average length of treatment is about 10 sessions. There is no charge for the service but the student is responsible for keeping the appointment or giving a MINIMUM of 24 HOURS NOTICE when canceling or rescheduling an appointment.
Sometimes it will be in the student's best interest to get a referral to an outside provider who can provide long term counseling and emergency after hours services. The clinical counselor (mguild@cnm.edu) will make that determination and provide referral options for the student.
CNM does not provide after hours or weekend emergency mental health services. In the case of an after hours mental health emergency, the student needs to call the University of New Mexico mental health (UNMH) crisis line at (505) 272-2920, or go to the UNMH 24 hour clinic at 2600 Marble NE, Albuquerque, NM.
CNM does not provide court-ordered counseling, nor does it provide reports for the court or probation office. CNM can provide you with referrals to outside services that do provide counseling and reports for the court.
