ID Card Information

Student ID Card
  • When should I get my student ID card?
You may get a student ID card after you have registered for classes. You must have a current class schedule or a class schedule for the upcoming term (e.g. if you have a Fall class schedule already now in early August, you may get your ID card).
  • What do I need as a student to get an ID?
You need 1) to be registered for classes and 2) you must have a photo ID. Acceptable photo IDs include Driver's Licenses, State ID cards, and passports.
  • Is there any charge for an ID?
There is no charge if it is your first ID. If you have had a previous TVI or CNM ID card, you can trade it in for your new CNM ID card. If you have lost your old ID card, check with us first; if the ID was made less than 2 years ago, you will probably have to pay $5 to Cashiers and give the receipt to the Student ID Office to receive a new card.
  • What if I lose my ID?
To replace it, you will need to pay $5 to Cashiers and bring the receipt to an ID Office and then a new ID can be made for you.
  • Do I have to trade my TVI ID for a new CNM ID?
All students, faculty, and staff are required to have a CNM ID. Individuals still carrying TVI ID cards should bring them to an ID office and exchange them for CNM IDs at no charge.
