| | TRiO participants must meet at least once per term (within 1st 5 weeks) with TRiO tutors in every subject that TRiO offers tutoring: Math, English, Chemistry, Biology and Physics. If student is not making satisfactory academic progress during the trimester- receiving a “C” or below in class and/or have to repeat coursework, they will attend CNM Learning Centers for tutoring on a regular basis. |
Tutoring is an opportunity for learning. In order to maximize the benefits of tutoring, students should:
- be aware of the Fall 2008 tutoring schedule (315 kb)
. - attend tutorials on a regular basis.
- realize that tutoring is not just for those having difficulty with their classes, but also for students who want to improve their grades and do well.
- make appointments in advance by calling (505) 224-4375. On occasion students may be able to get tutored without an appointment.
- come prepared to a tutoring session and be willing to participate. Students should bring their questions and course materials to each tutoring session.
- be prompt and notify TRiO, (505) 224-4375 if you cannot make your appointment.
- know TRiO, tutors work on a part-time basis. Schedules change each term and are posted at the beginning of each term. Sessions are conducted in staff offices and/or TRiO, area.
- know that tutoring sessions are usually 50-60 minutes in length.
- know Group tutoring, math study lab and supplemental instruction groups will be advertised via program email and mail.
