CNM Governing Board Members



CNM's Governing Board consists of seven members elected to four-year terms from districts within the overall College district, which includes Bernalillo County plus Corrales and  Rio Rancho in Sandoval County. 

Current members and their districts are:

District 1 — Robert P. Matteucci, (505) 268-8678
Robert Matteucci

Robert Matteucci is the longest-serving member of the Board. He became a member in 1986 and has served several terms as Board chair. A longtime retail businessman, he is now a self-employed consultant.

Janet W. Saiers, an Albuquerque resident since 1955, is a former English teacher subsequently employed by Albuquerque Parks & Recreation  in a variety of roles including employee education, public information, and planner. She served on the Development Review Board (1985-1992), as staff liaison to Parks and Recreation Advisory Board (1985–2002) and on the Bicycling Advisory Committee (1980-1994). Ms. Saiers  represented District 2 on the CNM Board previously, from 2003 to 2007 and has an extensive record of community service and volunteer activities..

Deborah Moore

Deborah "Debbi" Moore, a first-term Board member, has been the president of the Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce since 2002. She is also a member of the New Mexico Small Business Development Center Advisory Board, the Sandoval County Juvenile Justice Board and the Albuquerque Regional Economic Alliance.

Mark Armijo Mark Armijo is the president of Nuestros Valores Charter School and he is a programmer analyst for the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority. He is also the president of the Pauline Armijo Scholarship Fund, which provides support to non-traditional female students seeking a higher education degree in the education field.

Blair Kaufman

Blair Kaufman, a career educator, is principal of Sandia Base Elementary School. He was elected to the Board in 1995. A hot-air balloon pilot, he regularly flies the CNM banner.

Penelope Holbrook Penny Holbrook is the retired director of Community Corrections Inc., a contract agency that assisted people reintegrating into the community from prison. She became a Board member in 1999.

Michael DeWitte

Michael DeWitte, a first-term Board member, is an Executive Vice-President at B&D Industries and recently retired as a member of senior management at Sandia National Laboratories.  He currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Presbyterian Central New Mexico delivery system (hospitals/medical group), as Chair of the NM Business Roundtable, serves on the Board of Directors for the Economic Forum as well as the KNME Board (PBS Affiliate).  He is also a member of Albuquerque Economic Development and a registered Professional Engineer.
