Give Yourself Credit
Get a jump start on college by enrolling in one of our programs for high school students. If you are a high school sophomore through senior in central New Mexico, you can earn both college credits and high school elective credits.
You could even earn an Associate’s degree and your high school diploma at the same time. You can apply your credits to a CNM certificate or degree, or transfer most of them to UNM, NMSU and other colleges.
Options Abound
- Opt for general studies classes needed for an undergraduate degree, career programs or explore new interests.
- Sign up for courses weekdays, weekends, evenings, or online. Select from hundreds of regular CNM classes taught by CNM faculty.
- Take courses at any of our five campuses, through distance learning, or select one of the specialty programs offered at a local high school.
- CNM is starting to offer Dual Credit classes in partnering high schools, during the regular scheduled high school day. Check with your principal or school counselor to see what CNM Dual Credit classes may be at your school.
Choose the Right Program
- The Dual Credit Program offers free classes if you attend a public high school in central New Mexico, with whom we have a Dual Credit Agreement.
- The College & Career Bound Program is a fee-based program if you attend a private high school, are currently home-schooled, or attend a public high school and want to take college preparatory (900-level) classes.
- Summer College classes, which start after the end of the high school year, are available to both Dual Credit and College & Career Bound students.
- If you are 16 to 17 years old, lack a diploma, and are no longer actively enrolled in high school, please contact the Adult Basic Education Program (ABE).
