Position:  Regular Full-time Programmer Analyst

Pay Rate:  dependent upon experience

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Under direction of the Senior Programmer Analyst works on projects in support of administrative activities.  Works in a team environment providing support for SunGard SCT Banner and those projects which interface with Banner. Meets with clients (users) to identify and discuss issues; involves clients in development process.  Discussions include, but are not limited to, determining the requirements, developing modifying codes, and training users in the application.  Writes projects in PL/SQL, Pro C, COBOL, and SQL.  May provide support to third party software.  Documents all changes made.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field and two years directly related experience.  Equivalent education and experience can be substituted on a one-year for one-year basis.  Successful candidate must pass background check.

Skills and Knowledge:

Requires knowledge of programming techniques, SQL statements and SQL report writing skills. Must have some knowledge of procedures/functions, PL/SQL. Knowledge of UNIX and working in an Oracle environment and Oracle forms/reports a plus. Requires strong communication skills, both oral and written, solid organizational skills, and attention to detail, quality and accuracy.  Must have the ability to work effectively with a diverse clientele in a team environment.  Must have the ability to use independent judgment and respond to situations quickly while meeting deadlines. 

Preferences:  Knowledge of Banner C++/ProC, HTML

WORK SCHEDULE:  

This is an exempt position requiring a minimum of forty (40) hours per week, and may require a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the department or the College.
