Regular Full-time Desktop Support Services Manager
Dependent upon experience
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under general direction, oversees and directs the operations and management of service desk, Microsoft environment including desktop and server network operating system environment, desktop applications software, enterprise network storage and provides effective and timely support to client organization end users; provides technical assistance in the selection, procurement, usage, maintenance of software programs, hardware, and peripheral devises. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree Information Technology related and five (5) years Enterprise Active Directory Support and IT Service Desk experience, of which at least three (3) years was in a managerial capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Effective oral and written communications skills required. Ability to relate to and interact with a non-traditional diverse employee and student population. Special Requirements: A pre-employment criminal background check is required. PREFERENCES: Ability to supervise employees, manage projects and department budgets; prioritize work and meet deadlines; maintain knowledge of rapidly changing industry trends and standards; excellent communication skills, both written and orally; ability to produce technical documentation but also in terms understandable to diverse groups, including documentation of work and writing policies and procedures. Strong analytical skills top perform complex research and analysis. Experience with performance improvement, capacity planning, and systems management and networking on multiple computing platforms. Ability to integrate computer and customer service skills; and exceed technical, business, and customer requirements by working closely with people to develop solutions to their problems. Knowledge of ITIL and call center operations desired. Broad operational experience performing technical work in an enterprise network operating systems environment, including Microsoft Active Directory Services, UNIX, Linux and Microsoft 2000, or newer. Working knowledge of an enterprise email environment such as Microsoft Exchange Server and enterprise storage environment. Working knowledge of personal computer hardware and software installation, configuration, and maintenance; and computer and network security. Extensive experience using and supporting software products including, but not limited to email clients, office productivity software (MS Office preferred), and web authoring tools. WORK SCHEDULE: This is an exempt position requiring a minimum of forty (40) hours per week usually between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. A variable schedule may be required, dependent upon project needs and the needs of the College. DATE OF EMPLOYMENT: Upon approval.
